The Vela Rechargeable Dimmable Matte Adjustable Wall Light tilts through a full quarter turn, from pointing straight down the wall to angled up at the ceiling, so the same fixture can graze a textured wall, pick out a picture, or throw a soft indirect wash. Setting it takes a second and can be changed whenever the room does.
It runs on a rechargeable battery rather than a fixed connection, which means it can go where accent lighting is usually impossible: a stretch of wall with nothing behind it, an alcove, a stairwell, a rented room. Mounting takes about a minute, so it does not need to be a project. The light is a warm 3000K, which is the softer end of white and reads as candlelight rather than daylight.
Three finishes are offered: black, white and wood. Black is the most defined against a pale wall and disappears against a dark one; white recedes almost entirely and is the right choice when you want the lit area and not the fixture; wood is the warmest and sits naturally beside timber furniture and Scandinavian rooms. Vela is designed for a small area rather than a whole room, so it works best in a pair or a run.
