Riva is the sconce you fit when you want the light and not the fixture. The Riva Minimalist Matte LED Wall Sconce keeps to a simple, sleek form with no visible ornament, and puts out a warm glow that settles into a room rather than announcing itself. Mounted at eye level it lifts a wall softly; mounted lower beside a bed or a chair it gives just enough light to read or move around by without lighting the whole room.
The light source is an integrated LED module rather than a replaceable bulb, which keeps the housing slim and the output even across the face of the fitting. Installation is straightforward, and the mounting kit and instructions are included in the box. The fixture sits flush enough to work on a narrow stretch of wall or in a corridor where anything deeper would be in the way.
Two finishes are offered. Black is the more defined of the two, holding its shape against a pale wall and pairing with dark joinery, matte hardware and contemporary schemes. White recedes almost completely when unlit, which makes it the better choice where you want the light to appear without an obvious source. Riva suits living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and work spaces, and reads well in a run of two or three spaced evenly along a corridor.
