The Faro Dimmable Matte LED Surface Mount Spotlight is made for ceilings that cannot be cut into. It gives the same tight, directional beam as a recessed downlight, but it sits on the ceiling rather than in it, so it can go on concrete, on a beam, under a soffit or into a rented flat without a hole being made. In a kitchen it lights a run of counter; in a hallway it can be aimed at art rather than at the floor.
Four wattages are offered, from 5W for a soft accent to 18W for working light, in warm white 3000K, neutral white 4000K and cool white 6000K. These three are fixed-output: the colour is chosen at purchase, cannot be changed later, and the fixture is not dimmable. Each wattage is also offered as a Warm White Triac Dimming 3000K version, which is the one to choose if the light needs to drop back in the evening. That version has no remote; it requires a compatible triac wall dimmer, which is not included and must be fitted on the circuit by your electrician. Black and white finishes cover most ceilings.
The housing is compact, under 4" / 10 cm across and 4" / 10 cm deep, so a run of them reads as a line of small cylinders rather than a row of hardware. Mounting plate and fixings are included. Installation is hardwired and should be carried out by a licensed electrician. For indoor use only, and not intended for damp locations such as shower enclosures.
