One shape, done properly. The Nessa Minimalist Smoked Glass Dome Pendant Light is a blown glass dome in smoke gray, just over nine inches across, hung from a slim metal stem and an adjustable cord. Because the glass is blown rather than molded, the wall thickness varies slightly across the dome, which is what gives the light its depth instead of a flat, uniform tint.
Smoke gray does something specific to light: it takes the edge off a bright bulb without dulling it, so the fixture stays comfortable to sit under while the glass itself darkens to a deep, smoky tone when switched off. A single screw-base socket accepts LED, incandescent or fluorescent bulbs. The cord adjusts at installation, so the drop can be set for a low counter or a high ceiling with equal ease.
Nessa suits kitchens, islands, hallways, bedrooms and living rooms, sitting comfortably in both contemporary and transitional schemes. Use one over a bedside table, or run three above an island at even spacing for a cleaner line than a single large fixture would give.
