The Terrano Matte Sculptural Travertine Ceiling Lamp is a small cylinder of natural stone fixed close to the ceiling. Travertine is porous and softly banded, so the surface has depth to it, and light passing through the open ends picks up the warmth of the stone on its way out. In a hallway or a small bedroom it gives the room a centre without the visual weight of a pendant hanging down into the space.
The stone is paired with walnut-toned trim, a combination that reads warm and quiet against white plaster, clay paint or pale timber. It suits art deco, minimalist and wabi-sabi interiors, and it is a sensible choice where a ceiling is low enough that a hanging fixture would be in the way. Travertine is a natural material, so the banding varies from piece to piece and will not match a photograph exactly.
It mounts flush to the ceiling. Installation is hardwired and should be carried out by a licensed electrician. Use one over a hallway, a stairwell landing or a small study, or run two or three down a longer corridor.
