The Nyla Minimalist Warm Diffused Nordic Table Lamp is a study in restraint: a simple base, a clean shade and nothing else. There is no visible hardware, no ornament and no attempt to be the most interesting thing on the table. That is the point. It gives an even, diffused light that softens a corner of a room, and it does so without arguing with the furniture around it.
Five matte colours are offered. Black is the most graphic and works against pale walls and light timber. White is the quietest, close to disappearing into a painted wall. Grey sits between the two and suits a room with a lot of texture, linen, wool and stone. Red and orange are the accent choices, and each is strong enough to carry a plain shelf or a bare console table on its own.
It suits Scandinavian, contemporary and minimalist rooms, and works as well in a pair on a sideboard as it does alone on a bedside table. The bulb sits behind a diffuser, so the source is not exposed when you are lying down beside it. The lamp runs on a built in 1800mAh battery, which gives eight to ten hours of light on a charge and takes about four hours to fill, so it can sit anywhere in a room rather than anywhere near an outlet. Charge it at DC 5.0V, then carry it from the desk to the bedside to the balcony door. The base is weighted and stable. For indoor use only.
