The Mizu Japandi Diffused Mulberry Paper Floor Lamp is a tall lantern on a slim frame. Paper diffuses light broadly, so what comes through has little edge or glare to it; it fills a corner rather than pointing at it. The ribbed structure shows faintly through the surface when the lamp is lit, which gives the column a texture a plain fabric shade does not have.
It is a floor lamp with little visual weight. At H 74.8" / 190 cm and W 18.5" / 47 cm it occupies real height in a room while staying translucent, so it does not close off a corner the way a solid shade does. The frame keeps the whole form to a single vertical gesture and the footprint small. It suits wabi-sabi, Japandi, mid-century and minimalist interiors and sits alongside oak, tatami, linen and unglazed ceramic.
It runs from a standard outlet with an inline switch on the cord and takes a standard bulb, so the warmth of the light is yours to choose. Mulberry paper is delicate: keep the lamp out of walkways and away from curtains and open windows, dust it with a soft dry brush rather than a cloth, and use a low-heat LED bulb only. For indoor use only.
