Installation guide (15 to 30 minutes)
Before you start. Flat ground clear of rocks, sticks and thorns, away from branches and power lines, and out of low spots that puddle. At around four feet it is a compact piece, but a stacked shape is taller than it is wide, so setting it near a wall, hedge or fence to cut the wind load is worth doing.
- Unroll it facing the right way. Find the blower at the base, the power port, the tether loops, the base stake sleeves and the deflation zipper first.
- Check the blower collar is secure. Close every zipper and tie off any open port. An open port is the single most common reason one of these will not stand up.
- Test-inflate before anchoring. Plug in on a clear dry patch and check all three tiers fill and the stack stands straight. It fills in under a minute.
- Position it, then stake the base through the sleeves, driving the stakes at a slight inward angle rather than straight down. Angled stakes hold far better against the upward pull of wind.
- Run the tethers out to stakes at about 45 degrees, keeping tension on the fabric as you drive each one. On a stacked shape this matters more than on a low one.
- Fill any ballast pouch with sand or gravel if one is fitted.
- Even it out. Let it fully inflate, walk around it, adjust the tethers until the stack stands vertical, and tug-test every anchor.
- Re-check the next day and after a week. Stakes work loose as ground dries.
Order matters: inflate, position, anchor, then tension. Anchoring it flat gives crooked tethers.
Power. Supplied cords on yard inflatables are short, so an outdoor-rated extension cord is effectively required. Use a grounded three-prong outdoor cord, 14 AWG or heavier, into a GFCI outlet. A cord that is too thin or too long starves the blower and the stack sags. Keep the cord and adapter junction off the ground and out of puddles.
On a driveway, patio or deck, where stakes cannot go: sandbags or water bags at every anchor point, or tie off to deck posts, fence rails or railings.
Weather, troubleshooting and storage

| Wind | No manufacturer publishes a wind rating for this class. Industry guidance puts the practical limit for a well-anchored yard inflatable at roughly 25 to 30 mph sustained, and a stacked shape reaches it sooner. Above that, unplug it and let it lie flat. |
| Rain | Light rain with the blower running is fine, and better than leaving it collapsed in the wet. Take it down for storms and heavy wet snow. Keep the blower and cord junction out of direct water. |
| Small tears | It runs at low pressure, so it needs enough closure for the fan to keep up rather than an airtight seal. Clear packing tape from the inside, or a few hand stitches. |
Storage. Unplug, open the deflation zipper and press the air out from the top down. Bag the stakes separately so they cannot puncture the fabric. Dry it completely before folding — put away damp it comes out mildewed, and those stains do not lift from printed polyester. Fold loosely along the existing creases and store cool, dry and out of direct sun.
One safety note: guy lines across a lawn are a trip hazard for anyone walking up in the dark. Site it so the tethers do not cross the route to the door.

The shell is high-quality polyester cloth, light enough at 1.8 lb to move between a lawn, a porch or the end of a driveway as the display grows through October. It folds back into its box at 7.9 by 7.9 by 3.9 in, which is small enough to keep on a shelf with the rest of the seasonal decorations rather than surrendering a corner of the garage to it. Stored folded rather than rolled, the polyester comes back out the following year without the hard creasing stiffer inflatable materials tend to hold.
