The Oval Plush Non-Slip Backed Carpet Rug puts a soft, dense pile between bare feet and a cold floor. The high polyester pile compresses under a step and springs back, which is what makes a shag rug feel so much warmer than the timber or tile beneath it, and the oval shape softens a room in a way that a hard-cornered rectangle never does.
It was designed with nurseries and children's rooms in mind. The non-slip backing keeps the rug in place during play so it does not bunch or skate across a polished floor, and the thick pile takes the edge off the noise of a busy room. As with any rug, keep an eye on crawling babies and toddlers around it and check that the edges lie flat.
Two sizes are offered, both 63 inches long: a 23.6 inch wide runner-style oval for beside a bed or cot, and a 31.5 inch wide version for the middle of a nursery or a reading corner. Six colours, from muted Brown and Gray to soft Pink, Purple, Green and White, suit calm schemes and playful ones. Care is a quick shake or a vacuum, and the pile springs right back afterwards.
