Installation guide
Before you start. Vantre connects directly to your ceiling wiring, so it must be installed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code and all applicable local codes. Supply is 120 V AC, 60 Hz. There must already be a junction box at the feed point — the color-matched cover plate is a trim component that conceals an existing ceiling opening, and it is not a substitute for a box. Check that your fixings suit the ceiling substrate and will carry the assembled run: 12.3 lb with three heads, 18.3 lb with four or five, 8.8 lb for a sectional run. Indoor dry locations only.
- Isolate the circuit. Switch off the supply circuit at the panel and confirm it is dead at the fitting before touching any conductor.
- Set out and mount the track. Fix the rail to the ceiling on fixings matched to the substrate. On a sectional run, join the three 19.7" (50 cm) tracks with the two connectors and lay the whole run out first, so the joints fall where you want them before anything is fixed.
- Open the terminal block. Unscrew the retaining screws and withdraw the insulation baffle from the end of the track to expose the terminal block.
- Land the supply. Connect the supply conductors to the two power connection posts on the terminal block.
- Close it up. Refit the cover over the terminal block and tighten the screws, then fit the cover plate over the feed point to conceal the ceiling opening.
- Fit the lamps. Fit a GU10 lamp to each head and secure the shade. One 10 W warm white GU10 LED is supplied per head, and they are user-replaceable. Whether the run dims is determined by the GU10 lamp fitted, so use dimmable lamps if it is going on a dimmer.
- Fit and aim the heads. Engage each head into the track, rotate to lock, then slide it along the run to position. Restore power and aim each head.
Adjusting it later. Every head rotates 325 degrees about its stem, tilts up to 90 degrees from vertical, and slides and locks anywhere on the run — all independently of the others. A single run can wash a wall at one end and give task light at the other, and the heads can be re-aimed or repositioned at any time without rewiring.
Directional light without the industrial hardware. The Vantre Modular Adjustable Matte LED Track Light strings slim tubular heads along a clean surface-mounted rail, so you get the flexibility of track lighting in a form quiet enough for a living room. Three, four and five head configurations are offered, along with two sectional runs built from three shorter tracks and connectors, and each head pivots independently to aim light where the room actually needs it.
The rail and heads are finished together in matte black, warm gold or soft white, so the run reads as one continuous element rather than a set of parts. A color-matched cover plate measuring 5.51 by 3.94 inches is included with every order to conceal an exposed electrical hole at the mounting point.
Vantre earns its place over a kitchen counter, along a hallway, above a run of artwork or across an open-plan living space where fixed downlights would be inflexible. Angle the end heads outward to wash the walls and keep the center heads vertical for task light. Because the heads move, the same fixture can be re-aimed as a room changes around it. Hardwired installation; indoor dry locations only.
