The Halvar Minimalist Matte LED Curved Wall Sconce reduces a wall light to a single drawn line. A curved metal form arcs out from the wall and back, with the light source concealed within it, so what you see is the shape and the glow rather than a bulb or a shade. It is a fixture that reads as a piece of geometry during the day and as a soft band of light at night, which is a rare combination in something this small.
The body is iron, which gives it the rigidity to hold a clean curve without flexing, and the finish is applied over that rather than being the material itself. The LED is integrated, so the output is even along the form with no bright spot. Assembly is required at installation.
Four finishes are offered, each available in warm white or cool white light. Black is the most graphic against a pale wall. White recedes almost entirely until lit. Gold is the warmest and the most decorative, and champagne sits between gold and white, giving a softer metallic note than full gold. Warm white light suits bedrooms and living rooms; cool white is the sharper choice for a kitchen or a work area. Halvar suits bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens and hallways.
