The Embra Dimmable Warm Diffused Recessed Wall Sconce sits into the wall rather than on it. Only a small square or cylinder of metal is visible, flush with the plaster, and the light comes out of it as a narrow, directed beam. Beside a bed that means a reading light which takes up no surface at all, throws little across the room and leaves the nightstand free. In a hallway, a run of them lights the floor without a single fixture projecting into the space.
Five finishes are offered, matte black, chrome, matte black with copper, copper and nickel. Two light options sit alongside them and they are not the same thing. Warm Light is fixed output, switched on and off only. Triac Dimmable Warm Light can be taken down low without being switched off, which is the better bedside choice, but it does not dim on its own: it needs a compatible triac wall dimmer on the circuit. Decide between the two before installation, because changing later means swapping the fixture.
Two profiles are available, a square and a cylinder, and the choice between them is about how the aperture reads against the wall. A hidden-switch and a button-switch version are offered in each; the button switch is a small visible push button on the face. Installation requires a recess to be formed in the wall and the fixture hardwired in, so plan it before plastering.
